Matty’s Minute: Game On Winter

Easily one of the most powerful storms in my 15+ years living here in the Tahoe area as this past weekend delivered 30-40+ inches of snow across Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. After approximately 8 inches of rain falling prior to switching over snow late Sunday night... Mammoth Mountainand Palisades Tahoe have both received enough white stuff to announce their earliest openings to date on Friday, October, 29th.

Even more impressive was that Lake Tahoe recorded over 20 Billions of water received from this storm, pushing the lake level to now 5" above the natural rim.

Check out the scene from the summit of Mt. Rose on Tuesday morning after the storm cleared. Mt. Rose reported 38-42 inches of snowfall on its upper mountain from this storm!

Expect me 100% to be shredding Palisades Tahoe tomorrow morning for one of my earliest "first official days" ever.  I hope to see you in line!
